At BHC Furniture, we have three separate processes for recycling furniture, and the waste products associated with it, below are brochures fully explaining each process. We update our ‘What we are Recycling‘ page each month with details of how much we’ve recycled.

Packaging Recycling Service

Throwing materials away not only costs you money but also adds to landfill shortage and wastes valuable resources that could be recycled. Waste Packaging Regulations legislation states that companies have a duty of care to recycle defined amounts of their packaging and these thresholds keep decreasing.

We offer a packaging recycling service that will reduce your waste costs, ensure that your packaging is recycled effectively and responsibly, whilst also keeping you legally compliant with waste regulations and legislation. The Senator Group offers a packaging recycling service that will reduce your waste costs, ensure that your packaging is recycled effectively and responsibly, whilst also keeping you legally compliant with waste regulations and legislation.

Sound good? It gets better – you don’t even have to separate it out, we will do all the hard work for you and at the end of each year, we’ll send you an annual certificate showing how much carbon you’ve saved.

Furniture Recycling Service

We recycle an average of 1,000 items of furniture each week for our clients. It costs approximately the same to recycle an item of furniture as it does to send it to landfill. That’s because the process of recycling is very labour intensive, however as landfill costs rise and our duty to look after our environment increases, organisations are put under increased pressure to be responsible about how they dispose of their unwanted items.

Office furniture is typically made up of five different types of materials which can all be recycled with a bit of effort: woods, metals, plastics, fabrics and foams. The Senator Group has been manufacturing office furniture for over 30 years so we have a good idea of what is in your furniture and also the best ways of disassembling and recycling each of these materials.

We offer a furniture recycling service and for any customers who wish to deliver furniture directly to us, we can provide competitive prices per vehicle, as opposed to prices per item which not only saves you money but strengthens your environmental credentials too.

Furniture Remanufacturing

Furniture remanufacturing can be considered as a way of turning your existing furniture into ‘good as new’. The Furniture Remanufacturing involves putting existing items of furniture back through manufacturing processes. Broken or worn components are replaced or upgraded, and any components which do not need replacing are reused.

Remanufacturing is an incredibly efficient way of retaining the embedded carbon within a piece of furniture, as only broken and unused parts are replaced and recycled. This effectively extends your furniture’s life cycle beyond one single economic use and substantially reduces the furniture’s and your project’s carbon footprint.

Desks, chairs, screens and storage units can all be remanufactured by us. Seating can be reupholstered, resprayed and reassembled, with the same or upgraded components. Desk tops can be replaced with different shapes. Desk frames can be resprayed and made into different configurations. Screens can be resized and reupholstered and filing cabinets can be resprayed and repaired – the opportunities are endless.
